Southcom Keeps Watch on Ebola Situation

WASHINGTON, Oct. 8, 2014 – The potential spread of Ebola into Central and Southern America is a real possibility, the commander of U.S. Southern Command told an audience at the National Defense University here yesterday.
Customs and Border Protection begins Enhanced Screening Program at JFK Airport to combat the spread of the Ebola Virus
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection earlier today began enhanced passenger processing protocols at JFK International Airport in New York for passengers entering the United States who have traveled from or through the Ebola-affected countries of Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. This is being done in coordination with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

At the far end of Flag Island on the River Essequibo there's this long brick hall (see photo). It has tall, shuttered windows, the bell-tower of a little church and the body of a warehouse. Forts aside, it's probably the oldest building in Guyana. Inside there was a large expanse of flagstones, a cluster of well-laureled tombs, and a colony of bats.

Mr. Phillips, born October 19, 1952, in Dundee, Mahaicony, Guyana and was employed as a district manager within AT&T International Communications Services, Basking Ridge, NJ.
